Carl Helbich, MMI – Administrative Director

Mr. Carl Helbich has more than 25 years of operations management experience in a variety of environments including healthcare education. As Administrative Director, Carl’s goal is to create an efficient and welcoming environment for Cornerstone staff and clients. From appointment scheduling and billing to developing practitioner resources and community relations, his focus is always on increasing the quality of relationships both inside and outside of the clinic.

Having earned a Master’s Degree in International Management, Carl understands the importance of building a like-minded and effective team of professionals while being sensitive to individual needs and differences. He has developed and manages a number of administrative systems that provide clients with a stress-free experience from the initial phone call to completion of service.

Dr. Heather Hallam-Helbich – C. Psych. CTS

With over 20 years of clinical experience working with children and their families, Dr. Heather Hallam-Helbich understands that confidentiality and comfort are important factors in the outcome of assessment and therapy. As a child psychologist, Dr. Heather focuses on your child’s perceptions and behaviours while treating your whole family as a support system.

Dr. Heather Hallam-Helbich is a licensed clinical psychologist and certified trauma specialist. She works with children as young as 2 years of age, adolescents, and their parents, welcoming families from Windsor, Essex County, and surrounding communities. Through consultation and completion of various assessment techniques, Dr. Heather clarifies children’s problems, diagnoses specific disorders, determines appropriate treatment approaches, and advises parents as needed regarding behaviour management and how to access community resources. Dr. Heather’s particular areas of expertise include the following: diagnosis of Learning Disabilities, Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Behaviour Disorders, Anxiety and Depression; treatment of various disorders such as Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Depression, and Adjustment Disorders; education of parents regarding child development and effective behavioural strategies; and support of children and families who are coping with the effects of trauma or divorce.

Dr. Heather Hallam-Helbich earned her Ph. D. From Wayne State University and has worked in various environments, including Children’s Hospital of Michigan and the Windsor Essex County District School Board. She has been in private practice for 10 years and is a member of both the College of Psychologists of Ontario and the Canadian Psychological Association. Dr. Heather is a practicum supervisor for graduate students studying psychology at the University of Windsor, and is the Clinical Director at Cornerstone Family Care.

Jennifer Cirino – MSW, Registered Social Worker

Jennifer is a Registered Social Worker with over ten years of experience supporting children, adolescents and adults in hospital and community settings. She obtained a Master of Social Work degree from Wayne State University with a concentration in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

She supports individuals experiencing challenges with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma and more. Her clinical approach is informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness.

Jennifer believes in a collaborative approach to care and assists clients to change their perceptions in a way that has a helpful effect on their behaviour and mood.

Kathy Morneau, MSW, RSW has been a social worker in Windsor-Essex County for over 30 years. She graduated from the University of Windsor in 1985 and has been working with children/adolescents and families since that time. Her resume includes both clinical work and leadership, having worked in both outpatient and inpatient services. Kathy is an active member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers.

Trained in psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural and systemic approaches to therapy, Kathy tailors interventions to the needs of her clients providing therapy in individual, family and group formats as well as parent consultation and couples therapy.

Through various assessments and therapeutic approaches, Elizabeth can help you to recognize your strengths and to ignite the courage within you to navigate through challenging experiences, emotions, or thoughts.

Elizabeth has developed a special interest in supporting individuals who have or who are suspected to have neurodevelopmental disorders (i.e., intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, learning disorder, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder). Elizabeth is also experienced in supporting individuals who are struggling with feelings of anxiety, low mood, or with regulating their emotions. Grace Fazekas – Registered Psychotherapist

Grace is a graduate of Yorkville University’s Master of Counselling Psychology program. She strives toward establishing a safe space where collaboration with youth and their families can be explored throughout the treatment process. Grace currently provides therapy to youth with various concerns (eg. Anxiety, Depression, Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), Self-Esteem, Self Harm, and Suicidal Ideation). Grace practices from a holistic approach. She utilizes various evidence-based practices to encourage children, youth and families to develop skills focused on self-awareness, self-compassion, and self-development.

Stephanie earned a Master of Arts in Community and Mental Health Counseling from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2017 and is pursuing her PhD in Human Sexuality Studies (concentration in Sex Therapy) at Widener University.
